Yudhishthira Program

Yudhishthira Program

Yudhishthira program is designed to raise self righteousness and identify honest leaders within the community. This program is being conducted within the villages from past 4 year to promote such leaders to lead the community and to come forward at the time of crisis.

PROGRAM

Panchayats are functional institutions of grassroot governance in villages of India. It ensures greater participation of people and more effective implementation of rural development programmes. The 73rd constitutional amendment in 1992 had brought a new era in federal democratic set up of the country. This amendment has sanctioned Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to function as an organic entity and an integral part of the national democratic framework

Hindu Rights Watch

Hindu Rights Watch has a model of local self-governance known as ‘Village Development Committee’ (VDC) that includes PRI members, women and farmer’s representatives in our project areas. VDC members are selected during community meetings and members are nominated by their representatives. PRI representatives automatically become a choice for the VDC member as they are even at the Mandal/Taluk level

Our Approach

01

Hindu Rights Watch ensures that there is equal representation of all the communities. Through this representation of Community Based Organizations or CBOs/VDCs,

02

Hindu Rights Watch mobilizes the community to raise their voice on issues of concern at the Gram Sabha. CBOs/VDCs’ representation at Gram Sabha has increased impressively.

03

One important function that the VDCs/PRI members do is to prepare development plans and submit them to the Gram Sabha, and also direct the various CBOs formed by the Panchayat towards better governance.

04

VDCs here are well recognised by the government as well as other stake holders and are given the task of identifying and finalizing the village beneficiaries for the implementation of several government schemes and entitlements.
